Topic of the 23rd TU Forum was "Wie komplex ist die Wirklichkeit? Was Wahlmanipulation, Epidemien und die Finanzmärkte gemeinsam haben."

The new research institute operates in the fields of drones, self-driving vehicles, and collaborative systems in industrial automation. Under the lead of Andreas Steininger as Principal Investigator TU Wien's Embedded Computing Systems Group contributes to this endeavor.

We are organizing the first edition of the workshop on Worm's Neural Information Processing, at the 31st Conference on Neural Information Processing System (NIPS), at Long Beach, Ca, US, on the 8th of Dec 2017. The WNIP workshop aims at gathering researchers in neuroscience and machine learning together, to advance understanding of the neural information processing of the worm, C. elegans.

The international conference on computer safety takes place in Trento, Italy from 12th to 15th September 2017.

This year's symposium on "Principles of Modelling" takes place on Friday, 13th October 2017 in Berkeley, California.

On 22nd June Radu Grosu took part in a panel discussion about chances and challenges for mobility concepts using the Internet of Things at the OCG (Österreichische Computer Gesellschaft) in Vienna.

The paper "Measuring Metastability Using a Time-to-Digital Converter" by Thomas Polzer, Florian Huemer and Andreas Steininger received the best paper award in the category "Design" at the 20th IEEE International Symposium on Design and Diagnosis of Electronic Circuits and Systems (DDECS) which was held April 19-21 in Dresden.

On Thursday, April 27th 2017 at 12:00, Dr. Stephen Larson, former TED presenter, will be giving an exciting talk with the title "OpenWorm: Building the world’s first digital organism in an open science manner" at our CPS library.

Ramin M. Hasani from TU Wien together with Dr. Stephen Larson from the OpenWorm Foundation have led a live discussion about a recent work describing a model for predicting C. elegans random search behavior. The paper to be discussed is "A stochastic neuronal model predicts random search behaviors at multiple spatial scales in C. elegans" by W. Roberts, et. al.
